A GIFT City institute, set up in partnership with
GIFT IFI is established with the purpose of creating a globally recognised player at the forefront of fintech learning and development space with activities cutting across the entire fintech ecosystem. The Consortium of Ahmedabad University, IIT Gandhinagar, and UC San Diego brings to GIFT IFI its deep experience of research and teaching in fintech and allied areas. Each member of the Consortium has a global presence in educating students and industry professionals across various learning levels (from undergraduate to PhD) and bring a diverse set of expertise and capabilities in the field of education, research and development. GIFT IFI will also forge partnerships with other leading global academic institutions with expertise in fintech and firms in the fintech ecosystem to ensure that our curriculum reflects the needs of industry and our research addresses questions faced by business, government and society.
GIFTCL is developing a 32-story skyscraper in GIFT City for the International Fintech Innovation Hub which will house GIFT IFI which is expected to come up in 3 years. In the meantime, GIFT IFI will be housed at a state-of-the-art Pioneer campus (about 9000 square feet) at GIFT City. More details coming soon.
Growth of the Indian economy will be secularly linked to financial intermediation, creation of new kinds of jobs, and innovation in technology and business models in fintech. We, Ahmedabad University, IIT Gandhinagar, and UC San Diego are committed to grow the larger fintech ecosystem by bringing our extensive institutional strengths towards developing cutting edge fintech training and academic programme at the GIFT International Fintech Institute. We will build a new talent at scale and with global capabilities by collaboratively developing programmes with industry and leading global academics. Together, we will address the evolving needs of the financial sector with innovative solutions and through deep applied research, provide new ideas to the industry and the regulators. The Institute will also work closely with industry to reorient early and mid-career professionals towards technology driven financial solutions and service.

These initiatives will meet global industry and academia benchmarks, empowering students and professionals from varied domains with the skills relevant to emerging market needs. IIT Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad University, UC San Diego, and GIFT City envision fostering a globally competitive talent base that strengthens India’s role in the financial landscape.
