GIFT International Fintech Institute (GIFT IFI) hosted the IFI FinTech Bridge Course — a classroom cum industry tour program designed specifically for graduating MBA and Engineering students. Held at the GIFT IFI campus on the 18th Floor, Tower Two, GIFTCL Gandhinagar, the program brought together young academic talent and introduced them to the foundations of fintech in one of India's most dynamic financial environments.
The program commenced with a registration and welcome by Chandresh Shah, Manager at the IFI Program Office, followed by an introductory session delivered by Sandeep Dixit, Director Projects at GIFT IFI. This opening session provided students with an institute overview and a broad introduction to the world of fintech, setting the context for the learning journey ahead. After a short tea break, Prof. Kinshuk Saurabh from Ahmedabad University led an engaging session on Fintech Foundations, walking students through the core concepts and building blocks of the fintech industry, followed by a Q&A discussion.
The afternoon session delved deeper into the technical dimensions of the field, with Prof. Sameet Kulkarni and Prof. Mithun Radhakrishna from IIT Gandhinagar conducting a comprehensive session on Technology for Fintech. This session explored the technological frameworks and innovations that drive modern financial services, offering students from both engineering and management backgrounds a well-rounded understanding of how technology and finance intersect in today's world.
The day concluded with a guided GIFT City Tour, giving students the opportunity to experience first-hand the scale and vision of India's first operational International Financial Services Centre. The FinTech Bridge Course successfully bridged the gap between academic learning and real-world industry exposure, equipping the next generation of engineers and managers with the knowledge and perspective needed to explore careers at the intersection of technology and finance.
