The Xero section follows the original Xero Bookkeeping Jobs module. It includes creating a new organisation in Xero, adding bank accounts, savings accounts, credit card accounts and petty cash accounts, editing and adding chart of account codes, processing sales invoices manually and through Excel import, processing purchase invoices, recording expenses, reconciling bank accounts, posting payroll journals, creating Excel working notes, and extracting reports such as Aged Payables, Aged Receivables, Account Transactions, Trial Balance and VAT Returns.
The AI component is limited to 10 hours and is designed around safe and practical use. It should include AI-assisted email drafting, query clarification, summarizing client documents, creating reconciliation checklists, identifying unusual balances for review, drafting working-paper notes, and using AI to create first-pass explanations of accounting differences. The course should also clearly teach what AI should not be used for: making unsupported accounting judgements, inventing missing documents, finalizing reconciliations without evidence, uploading confidential client data into unauthorized tools, or replacing trainer/senior review.
Build practical Xero capability and introduce responsible use of AI in accounting operations.
This course focuses on setting up and processing bookkeeping jobs in Xero. It also adds a limited AI component of 10 hours, which is the maximum requested. The AI content is not meant to replace accounting judgement. It is designed to help trainees use AI carefully for productivity, review, documentation, query drafting and error identification.
By the end of this course, the learner should be able to create a Xero organization, set up bank and ledger accounts, process sales and purchase invoices, import data, perform bank reconciliation, extract reports, document working notes, and use AI tools responsibly for accounting support tasks.
The programme is delivered in hybrid mode.
Minimum qualification: Undergraduate degree.
